Community Research & Product Concept

WavID is a concept and research paper developed by 0xQuan93, with system formalization by REGALIA//89. It proposes turning an artist's verifiable WaveWarZ battle history — battles, wins, catalog, trading volume — into a persistent generative visual identity that evolves as the artist competes. It is a research and product-definition paper, not a shipped WaveWarZ feature, rights opinion, or token prospectus.

Abstract

Synthetic media makes content easier to produce, copy, alter, and distribute. It does not make lived history equally easy to create. This shift exposes a growing weakness in conventional artist profiles: they assemble content, biography, metrics, and platform identity, but rarely make the evidentiary structure beneath an artist's history legible. A large catalog does not by itself prove authorship. A wallet does not prove a natural person's identity. A token does not automatically transfer copyright. A stream count is not identical to attentive audience participation. The objects remain useful, but the claims made from them must be calibrated.

WavID addresses this problem by treating an artist's accumulated creative and competitive history as the basis of a persistent visual identity. Its central proposition is:

WavID transforms verifiable creative history into persistent visual identity.

The WavID is therefore not fundamentally an image. It is a stateful identity lineage composed of a persistent root, a set of attributable events, the evidence supporting those events, a normalized feature state, a versioned visual grammar, and one or more rendered artifacts. The artwork is the visible surface of this deeper construction.

This paper names the evidentiary principle beneath WavID Proof of Creative History: a verifiable record showing that a persistent identity accumulated a particular sequence of authenticated creative, competitive, performative, or cultural events through time. Proof of Creative History is deliberately narrower than proof of humanity, legal identity, authorship, or ownership. Its credibility depends on never making a claim more certain than the evidence below it.

The paper also documents the first deployed Artist WavID production grammar, wavewarz-roster-to-material-v1/1.0.0. That implementation freezes a hash-bound WaveWarz roster checkpoint and maps stable artist identity, indexed songs, Quick Battle activity, win/loss ratio, genre distribution, and Quick Battle trading volume into a deterministic signal-body made of a body envelope, cavities, bands, nodes, lobes, motion traits, signal behavior, and phosphor optics. The mapping is bounded and nonjudgmental: activity is not merit; volume is not income or human value; loss is history rather than damage.

WavID's larger potential is a new kind of musical heraldry—computed rather than assigned, accumulated rather than merely designed, and capable of becoming readable as a culture learns its grammar. Its ultimate research question is not simply whether an engine can make art from artist data. It is whether credible history can become visible enough to inform trust, preserve continuity, teach visual literacy, resist manipulation, and eventually participate in the creation of future history.

1. The problem: content abundance and identity scarcity

Recorded music has always involved mediation: studios, labels, distributors, charts, press, metadata, and platforms all shape how an artist becomes legible. Generative systems add a new degree of scale. Songs, images, biographies, voices, promotional clips, and engagement can now be produced or manipulated at volumes that make the existence of content a weaker proxy for the existence of a coherent artistic life.

This does not mean synthetic media is fraudulent. It means several categories that were already distinct have become impossible to treat as interchangeable:

\text{Content}
\neq
\text{Identity}
\neq
\text{Activity}
\neq
\text{Reputation}
\neq
\text{Rights}

A sound recording is content. An ISRC identifies a sound recording, but the International ISRC Registration Authority explicitly warns that the code does not encode the recording's current rights status.[1] A wallet establishes a cryptographic control relationship, not necessarily a legal name, physical presence, or authorship claim. A battle result is an event. A history of battles is behavior. Community interpretation of that behavior is reputation. Copyright ownership, licensing, and administration remain legal and contractual questions.

The scarce object in this environment is not simply media. It is credible continuity: a persistent identity with an inspectable relationship to events that actually occurred.

The conventional profile asks:

What content is attached to this name?

WavID asks:

What history accumulated around this persistent identity, what evidence supports it, and how can part of that history become visible without collapsing the artist into a score?

2. Definition and central thesis

A WavID is a versioned visual identity state derived from a persistent artist root and an attributable history.

Let a denote an artist identity. Let R_a denote its persistent root. Let the qualifying history observed through time t be:

H_a(t)=\{e_1,e_2,\ldots,e_n\}

Each event is conceptually represented as:

e_i=(type,time,subject,counterparties,outcome,source,proof)

A versioned state function \phi_v transforms the validated history and root into a canonical feature state:

S_a(t)=\phi_v(R_a,H_a(t))

A renderer \Psi_r, constrained by renderer version r and deterministic seed \sigma, transforms that state into visible form:

V_a(t)=\Psi_{r,\sigma}(S_a(t))

The complete WavID at time t is therefore:

W_a(t)=
(R_a,H_a(t),P_a(t),S_a(t),v,r,\sigma,V_a(t))

where P_a(t) is the evidence set supporting the history.

In ordinary language:

root → events → evidence → state → visual grammar → artifact

This sequence reverses the conceptual order of image-first tokenization. The WavID does not begin with an image to which significance is later attached. Its ideal order is:

\text{History}
\rightarrow
\text{State}
\rightarrow
\text{Artifact}

The image may be copied. The style may be imitated. Neither act should create identity equivalence, because authenticity lives in the lineage beneath the image.

3. Proof of Creative History

This paper defines Proof of Creative History (PoCH) as:

A verifiable record demonstrating that a persistent identity accumulated a particular sequence of authenticated creative, competitive, performative, or cultural events over time.

The word authenticated refers to the relationship between a claim and its evidence, not to an absolute declaration about the human being behind every account. PoCH is compositional. Its strength comes from many bounded claims that can be inspected independently:

  • an authorized account took an on-chain action;
  • a WaveWarz battle was indexed and settled with a stated result;
  • an organizer attested to tournament participation;
  • a venue attested to a performance;
  • a recording identifier references a specific recording;
  • a party made a specific rights assertion;
  • a WavID state was derived from a particular event set and schema;
  • an artifact was rendered from that state by a particular renderer version.

Solana transactions contain signatures authorizing changes and one or more instructions; the network processes those instructions atomically, reverting the transaction's state changes if an instruction fails.[2] These properties can make an on-chain event strong evidence that the recorded transaction occurred. They do not establish every off-chain proposition a viewer might infer from it.

This produces a hierarchy of evidence rather than a single badge named verified:

Evidence classSafe claimUnsafe inference
On-chain transaction or program stateThe specified account action or recorded settlement occurredThe controller is a legally identified natural person
Signed issuer credentialThe issuer made the stated claim under the identified procedureEvery issuer is equally authoritative or permanently correct
Official API observationThe API returned the recorded state at the stated timeThe response is a cryptographic signature by the platform
Industry identifierThe identified party, recording, work, or release is referencedThe identifier alone establishes ownership or every rights share
Rights assertion or contract referenceThe identified party asserts or documents the stated rights relationshipA token or wallet independently transfers copyright
Self-assertionThe artist states the supplied fact or preferenceIndependent verification has occurred
Derived stateThe value follows from declared inputs and rulesThe derivation proves artistic worth

The governing law is simple:

Never make the WavID claim more certain than the evidence beneath it.

4. Identity is not ownership

The canonical WavID should be understood as an identity credential or identity lineage, not as a freely transferable commodity. If Artist B purchases Artist A's accumulated identity, the object no longer communicates Artist A's continuity; it communicates ownership of an artifact about Artist A.

This does not eliminate collectible possibilities. A WavID identity could emit transferable artifacts: genesis snapshots, tournament states, championship states, tour editions, physical prints, collaborative objects, or historical renderings. The distinction must remain explicit:

\text{Canonical identity}
\neq
\text{artifact emitted by identity}

The same discipline applies to intellectual property. WIPO's analysis of NFTs and copyright emphasizes that most NFTs do not themselves transfer copyright and that a token may contain metadata associated with a work rather than the work or its rights.[3] WIPO's broader blockchain work treats distributed ledgers as potentially useful for provenance, record keeping, and interoperability within IP ecosystems, not as a magical replacement for legal analysis.[4]

WavID can bind identity references, provenance, state commitments, and rights assertions into an inspectable graph. It must not claim that those categories are identical.

5. Persistent roots and controller rotation

A serious identity system cannot permanently equate an artist with one wallet. Keys are lost. Custody changes. Bands alter membership. Managers rotate. Multisignature policies evolve.

Therefore:

\text{Artist root}
\neq
\text{current controller}

The root persists while authorized controllers change through an auditable process. Controller changes become events in the lineage rather than destructive replacements of the identity. Recovery and rotation policies are future protocol requirements; the current Artist WavID production system does not claim to solve them.

6. WavID as temporal identity

The current state is not the entire identity. The lineage is:

\mathcal{W}_a=\{W_a(t_0),W_a(t_1),\ldots,W_a(t_n)\}

This creates temporal scarcity. A later artist can exceed an earlier artist in activity or achievement, but cannot become early. Their histories occupy different positions in time.

It also creates the possibility of digital patina. A conventional digital object may be artificially weathered. A WavID should appear historically developed because additional authenticated history genuinely exists beneath it. An early state remains reproducible; a later state carries its own commitment; milestones can remain legible without being reduced to decorative badges.

The design objective is simultaneous continuity and change:

W_a(t_1) \sim W_a(t_2) \quad \text{as identity}

while:

W_a(t_1) \neq W_a(t_2) \quad \text{as state}

7. The implemented Artist WavID system

As of 18 August 2026, the private ArtistOS implementation provides a bounded production proof. It should not be confused with the complete protocol proposed by this paper.

The implemented flow is:

  1. An operator explicitly requests a WaveWarz roster sync.
  2. Artist and song leaderboard responses are normalized into stable Audius-linked artist records.
  3. Only an artist with a stable Audius identity, at least one reconciled song, and internally consistent Quick Battle totals is birth-eligible.
  4. Birth freezes the selected artist record into an immutable local source capsule.
  5. The source capsule, roster snapshot, production props, material anatomy, genome, and manifest receive canonical SHA-256 commitments.
  6. The mapping wavewarz-roster-to-material-v1/1.0.0 transforms the frozen checkpoint into material-v1 anatomy and renderer traits.
  7. Poster and silent-loop rendering occur separately and require explicit operator confirmation.
  8. An explicit update operation may fetch a fresh roster observation. It creates no duplicate if the normalized artist record is unchanged; changed data becomes a new immutable checkpoint revision whose poster, silent loop, and anatomy projection are regenerated while the prior revision remains preserved.
  9. A successor becomes current only after its renderer starts. If that render fails, the former current revision is restored.
  10. Technical verification remains distinct from artist approval, canon, publication, minting, payment, and utility.

The official public API was reachable during preparation of this paper, with a fresh health response retrieved at 2026-08-18T20:28:55.3714689Z and API update time 2026-08-18T20:28:56.669Z. That availability check is not the source of an existing birth. Each WavID remains bound to its own frozen checkpoint.

The current implementation is local-first and does not require an AI model or inference tokens. The mapping is deterministic code, not a language-model interpretation of the artist.

8. The material-v1 feature state

The deployed mapping first derives four bounded aggregate features. Let:

  • B = total indexed Quick Battles;
  • W = wins;
  • L = losses;
  • C = indexed songs;
  • Q = summed Quick Battle trading volume in SOL;
  • o=W/B when B>0, otherwise neutral fallback 0.5.

The saturating transform is:

sat(x,h)=1-2^{-\max(x,0)/h}

The normalized feature state is:

activity=sat(B,24)
catalog=sat(C,8)
volume=sat(Q,2)
outcome=o

Saturation prevents raw volume or repeated activity from expanding anatomy without bound. It does not by itself solve gaming or Sybil behavior; it limits magnitude while the evidence and governance layers remain separate research problems.

8.1 Stable artist identity

The stable artistKey produces an identity seed:

quantum-quil:wavid:artist:production:v1:<artistKey>

That seed controls the deterministic choices that make the body specific to the artist: body family, harmonics, rotation, palette, cavity positions, node positions, band bends, and constrained variations in lobe placement. Seed-derived properties express identity continuity. They are not claims about achievement.

8.2 Body envelope

The body provides the persistent global silhouette.

Aspect is directional geometry, not rank. Scale reflects bounded catalog presence, not artistic importance.

8.3 Cavities

Cavities are irregular openings that act as local activation sources and porous bridges.

PolarityCavity orderAlternating positive and negative flow direction

Porosity is greatest near an even record. This does not mean balance is healthier or better. It is one visual encoding of directional tension.

8.4 Nodes

Nodes are local centers influencing nearby circulation.

OutputInputRule
CountBattle activityclamp(ceil(activity × 3), 1, 3)
RadiusBattle activity0.055 + activity × 0.07
Field strengthBattle activity0.36 + activity × 0.48

PositionArtist identity seedDeterministic bounded geometry

Positive and negative denote circulation direction only. They do not mean good and bad, winning and damaged, healthy and unhealthy, or valuable and worthless.

8.5 Bands

Bands are curved field corridors connecting cavity and node anchors. They are the most direct song-level structures in material-v1.

The number of bands is:

bandCount=clamp(ceil(\sqrt{C}),3,8)

Songs are ranked by their indexed Quick Battle volume, with Audius permalink as the deterministic tie-breaker. The first bandCount songs are assigned one per band; if an implementation ever contains more bands than songs, assignment cycles deterministically.

For song j:

bandStrength_j=0.28+sat(songVolumeSOL_j,0.5)\times0.58
bandWidth_j=0.032+sat(songBattles_j,4)\times0.04

Band route follows ordered cavity/node indices. Bend is deterministic from artist identity, song permalink, and band index.

The frozen song record also preserves wins, losses, win rate, genre, last-played time, and Audius source. In material-v1, per-song wins and losses are inspectable provenance context but do not control width or field strength. This is an important limitation. A separate v3 product-research branch tests restrained amber win matter and graphite-violet loss matter within song bands; that treatment must not be described as already present in every production birth.

8.6 Lobes

Lobes translate genre distribution into up to three directional swells in the outer envelope.

Genres are counted across indexed songs and ordered by descending song count, then alphabetically. For genre g_i:

lobeAmplitude_i=0.04+0.08\sqrt{\frac{genreSongs_i}{dominantGenreSongs}}

Genre order establishes broad angular separation. Identity-seeded variation adjusts angle and concentration without changing the underlying genre assignment.

Genre is treated as API metadata, not as an essentialist statement about the artist. A mixed or mislabeled catalog will affect the current grammar accordingly.

8.7 Motion, signal, and image formation

The WavID is a single signal-body. Its traces share one organism clock and deformation field. The following mappings shape motion and acquisition behavior after anatomy is established:

OutputInputRule
Analog amountAggregate volume saturation0.93 + volume × 0.05
AsymmetryDistance of win ratio from 0.50.45 + abs(outcome - 0.5) × 0.8

HoldWin ratio0.28 + outcome × 0.55
InterruptionBattle activity0.18 + activity × 0.5
RetraceMemory0.35 + memory × 0.5
PaletteArtist identity seedDeterministic selection from the approved phosphor palettes

The current production loop uses a fixed 120 BPM and sixteen beats. BPM is not currently artist data in material-v1. A separate research mapping proposes a defensible current consecutive-win-streak carrier between 96 and 128 BPM, but that mapping requires fresh ordered finalized evidence and is not silently substituted into existing births.

The oscilloscope layer owns image formation—phosphor color, persistence, bloom, scan texture, grain, dust, and interrupted acquisition. It does not invent the anatomy.

The table exposes a subtle but essential truth. Record values are preserved alongside each song, but the production-v1 band geometry uses battle count for width and Quick Battle volume for field strength. Wins and losses influence aggregate body, cavity, node, motion, and signal variables through the overall outcome ratio; they do not yet create per-song outcome matter in this renderer.

The other twelve indexed songs are not silently discarded. They contribute to aggregate song count, battle totals, overall record, total volume, and genre distribution. They do not each receive an individual band at this checkpoint because ceil(sqrt(16)) = 4.

10. Anatomy as an auditable visual instrument

If WavID is to become a language, the viewer must be able to inspect the translation. The visual artifact may remain wordless, but the surrounding anatomy instrument should disclose:

  • the frozen checkpoint time;
  • the artist identity key and claim status;
  • the source and roster hashes;
  • the exact mapping version;
  • the aggregate inputs;
  • the input and output of each anatomical system;
  • the song assigned to each band;
  • the per-song record, battles, volume, genre, and source permalink;
  • the formula producing width and strength;
  • the values preserved but not visualized;
  • the distinction between static pre-filter coordinates and displaced visible traces.

This is not merely developer debugging. It is the first practical form of the WavID Codex: a human-readable layer that teaches how source becomes form.

The Command Center implementation now exposes this data only after verifying the genome, props, source reference, source capsule, material fingerprint, and canonical hashes. If any binding drifts, QUIL falls back to geometry without claiming a trusted source-data decoding.

11. The visual-semiotic argument

WavID can be described scientifically as a high-dimensional temporal identity glyph. Glyph-based visualization uses visual objects to encode multivariate data; the field explicitly connects glyph design with semiotics, perceptual organization, and the difficulty of representing many dimensions at once.[5]

WavID must satisfy three objectives simultaneously:

\text{aesthetic integrity}
+
\text{information fidelity}
+
\text{identity continuity}

The current nested, organic signal-body evokes fingerprints, tree rings, contour maps, wave interference, and geological strata. The shared concept is that form is the residue of process. This metaphor is valuable because it makes accumulated identity intuitively plausible before a viewer learns the grammar.

Intuition is not enough. Graphical-perception research treats visual decoding as an empirical question: a designer's intention does not prove that a viewer can accurately recover the encoded value.[6] WavID therefore needs a versioned Visual Encoding Specification and human testing.

The minimum semantic principles are:

  1. Semantic stability. A published channel cannot silently change meaning.
  2. Perceptual separability. Independent inputs should not produce indistinguishable effects.
  3. Temporal coherence. A later state must still read as the same lineage.
  4. Deterministic verifiability. The same committed input and version must reproduce or validate the same state.
  5. Version transparency. Old states remain interpretable under their original grammar.
  6. Semantic restraint. Factual difference must not become a hidden judgment of human value.
  7. Accessibility. Essential distinctions should not depend on color alone.
  8. Progressive disclosure. The artifact works first as identity, then as art, then as information, then as provenance.

12. WavID LIVE and the separation of state from observation

A persistent identity needs both memory and presence, but those are not the same data class.

The frozen WavID checkpoint establishes a reproducible body. QUIL LIVE accepts time-bounded observations through a separate versioned contract. A live observation may report normalized presence, intensity, venue, stream, sensor, social, or WaveWarz signals. It may be displayed beside the WavID. It cannot rewrite anatomy, source identity, approval, canon, publication, mint, payment, or utility.

This separation prevents two failures:

  • a transient feed changing the historical meaning of a committed artifact;
  • receipt of data being mistaken for authorization to publish or mutate identity.

Future work may define approved live-to-visual mappings. Those mappings require their own semantics, consent, safety, rate limits, replay protection, and versioning. The current LIVE gateway is an observation layer, not a biological metaphor and not an autonomous identity agent.

13. Interoperability: connective tissue, not replacement

WavID should not replace mature identifiers and provenance systems. It should connect them while preserving their different jobs.

  • ISRC identifies recordings; it does not encode current ownership.[1]
  • ISNI can identify public identities associated with creative contributors.
  • DDEX standards communicate structured information about parties, musical works, recordings, releases, and rights.[7]
  • W3C Verifiable Credentials define an issuer-holder-verifier model for tamper-evident claims and include status, privacy, security, and accessibility considerations.[8]
  • C2PA Content Credentials bind provenance assertions to media assets using signed claims and content bindings.[9]
  • Solana can provide transaction and program-state evidence for events represented on-chain.[2]

These systems produce two complementary axes:

\text{Asset provenance}: \text{What happened to this media?}
\text{Identity provenance}: \text{What happened to this artist identity?}

C2PA primarily addresses the first. WavID proposes the second. A future provenance graph can connect a WavID root to recordings, works, contributors, credentials, event proofs, and rights assertions without pretending that one identifier proves all of them.

14. Protocol architecture

A mature WavID protocol requires at least eight logical layers:

  1. Root layer: persistent identity and controller policy.
  2. Event layer: normalized qualifying events.
  3. Evidence layer: transactions, signatures, credentials, timestamps, issuer metadata, and verification status.
  4. State layer: deterministic conversion from accepted events to a canonical feature state.
  5. Visual-semantic layer: versioned rules mapping state to form.
  6. Artifact layer: renderings and their hashes.
  7. Works-and-rights layer: references to parties, works, recordings, credits, licenses, and rights assertions.
  8. Verification layer: human and machine resolution of current and historical states.

A conceptual state commitment is:

C_t=Hash(Root,EventSet_t,SchemaVersion,State_t)

An artifact commitment is:

A_t=Hash(C_t,RendererVersion,Seed,Artifact)

The distinction lets a verifier ask separately:

  1. What identity state is represented?
  2. Is this artifact an authorized rendering of that state?

The exact artistic renderer may remain proprietary. Protocol legitimacy requires that identity semantics, input commitments, evidence classes, versioning rules, and verification behavior become sufficiently auditable that third parties do not have to trust the renderer operator blindly.

15. Hyperstition and performativity

At first, the artist causes the WavID:

\text{behavior} \rightarrow \text{WavID}

If the community learns the grammar, the representation can enter a feedback loop:

\text{behavior}
\rightarrow
\text{WavID}
\rightarrow
\text{shared meaning}
\rightarrow
\text{social consequence}
\rightarrow
\text{behavior}

Jeffy Yu's 2024 arXiv paper describes hyperstition as a process in which circulating fictions or narratives help produce the realities they describe.[10] The paper is a preprint centered on autonomous AI, memes, and markets, so it should be used as a speculative lens rather than settled evidence about WavID.

WavID adds an important constraint to the hyperstitional loop: its mythology can be attached to real history. The artist actually battled. The event actually occurred. The checkpoint actually existed. The art translates that history. Culture learns the translation. The learned meaning may motivate future behavior.

This is also a question of performativity: when a representation becomes consequential, it can shape the behavior it was designed to describe. Whether WavID changes artist behavior is a testable hypothesis, not a fact to assume.

16. Incentives, gaming, and the attack surface of meaning

When a visual feature becomes desirable, people will search for the cheapest way to produce it. If density means battles, meaningless repeated battles may be used to manufacture density. If a rare feature follows volume, coordinated wallets may manufacture volume. If wins dominate prestige, participants may seek weak opponents.

The attack surface is therefore larger than code:

The WavID's attack surface includes its meaning.

On-chain occurrence is not sufficient evidence of semantic quality. One actor may control many addresses. Repetition may be real but low-information. A metric may be accurately measured and still become distorted once it becomes a target.

Defensive principles include:

  • cap raw magnitude through bounded transforms;
  • value diversity of counterparties and event types where appropriate;
  • distinguish time and repetition;
  • require stronger evidence for culturally rare features;
  • detect replay, circular clusters, and implausibly compressed histories;
  • keep revocation and dispute records auditable;
  • resist a single scalar artist score;
  • make losses and returns into history, not shame;
  • never encode human worth, health, awareness, or moral status.

WavID should make trajectories different without claiming that one life is intrinsically higher.

17. Governance and dignity

Once a grammar carries cultural consequence, changing it redistributes meaning. Governance must address:

  • who can add an event type;
  • which issuers are trusted for which claims;
  • how incorrect or fraudulent events are disputed;
  • how revocation appears without erasing history;
  • how renderer and semantic versions are adopted;
  • how controller recovery works;
  • how band and collective identities change membership;
  • how an artist freezes, retires, or memorializes a lineage;
  • what can remain private while a derived fact is proven;
  • what personal information must never become permanent public data;
  • how artist consent governs use of identity-linked artifacts.

The current private births do not prove artist control or consent. They are source-bound product-research artifacts. That boundary is a design strength, not an embarrassment: the protocol should grow by adding evidence, not by overstating what an API observation proves.

18. Research program

WavID's major propositions are falsifiable.

H1 — State reproducibility

Independent machines using the same canonical source, schema, state mapping, seed, and renderer version should produce matching state commitments and verifiable artifacts.

H2 — Perceptual differentiation

Different histories should not routinely produce forms that observers confuse as the same identity. Cryptographic collision resistance and perceptual collision resistance are separate tests.

H3 — Temporal coherence

Observers should recognize successive states as one lineage while detecting meaningful state change.

H4 — Visual decodability

After bounded training, observers should identify selected facts—older lineage, greater qualifying activity, tournament credential, event type, or common identity—above chance.

P(correct\ interpretation\mid training)>P(chance)

H5 — Calibrated trust

Users shown WavID evidence explanations should understand what each proof does and does not establish. Maximum trust is not the target. Correct trust is.

H6 — Adversarial resistance

Hostile datasets—replay, repeated counterparties, circular wallets, artificial volume, compressed timing, and duplicate events—should not cheaply manufacture features intended to represent costly history.

H7 — Behavioral consequence

Longitudinal study should test whether WavID visibility changes artist participation, continuity, collaboration, tournament entry, return behavior, or care for provenance.

H8 — Dignity and nonhierarchy

Qualitative and quantitative study should test whether artists perceive the system as documenting trajectory rather than ranking human value, and whether losses remain legible without appearing as injury or inferiority.

19. Development sequence

The appropriate sequence is:

\text{ontology}
\rightarrow
\text{event schema}
\rightarrow
\text{evidence model}
\rightarrow
\text{state model}
\rightarrow
\text{visual grammar}
\rightarrow
\text{verification}
\rightarrow
\text{human testing}
\rightarrow
\text{governance}
\rightarrow
\text{cultural and commercial layers}

Semantics precede scarcity. Provenance precedes price. The event ontology precedes rarity. Credibility is the asset that must compound first.

Two public documents should eventually emerge from this work:

  1. The WavID Protocol Specification for developers, platforms, institutions, and verifiers.
  2. The WavID Codex for artists, collectors, audiences, curators, and culture.

The specification creates trust. The Codex creates literacy. Together they allow a visual system to become a language.

Conclusion

WavID is best understood as a stateful, multivariate, temporal visual credential for musical identity—or, in more human language, a living signature.

Its deepest primitive is not the image, the token, scarcity, rank, or ownership.

It is history.

A conventional artist profile is assembled. A WavID is accumulated. A conventional avatar depicts identity. A WavID can document a lineage. A conventional trophy isolates one moment. A WavID can incorporate the moment into a continuing body. A conventional chart explains itself with axes. A WavID may become readable through learned cultural literacy, while retaining a deeper machine-verifiable state beneath the visual surface.

The complete loop is:

\boxed{
\text{Identity}
\rightarrow
\text{Action}
\rightarrow
\text{Evidence}
\rightarrow
\text{History}
\rightarrow
\text{Form}
\rightarrow
\text{Meaning}
\rightarrow
\text{Action}
}

Content can be generated. Images can be copied. Metrics can be manipulated. Accounts can be created. But history supported by independently inspectable events retains a stubborn property: it must happen.

The artwork is history's surface. Provenance is its skeleton. Time is its material. The artist is its continuity. Culture may become its interpreter.

History leaves form. WavID makes creative history leave form on digital identity.

Appendix B — Interpretation boundaries

  • Quick Battle trading volume is platform activity, not artist income, donation, direct support, rarity, rank, price, or human value.
  • Song-level trader totals are not necessarily deduplicated people.
  • Main Event and Quick Battle records are separate evidence domains.
  • Positive and negative polarity are circulation directions, not moral or medical states.
  • Wins and losses are historical outcomes, not measures of artistic merit.
  • A hash proves byte commitment, not truth of every upstream claim.
  • An official API observation is attributable provenance, not necessarily a platform signature.
  • A wallet relationship does not by itself prove natural-person identity.
  • A token does not automatically transfer copyright.
  • Technical verification does not confer artist approval, canon, publication, minting, payment, or utility.
  • LIVE observations do not rewrite frozen anatomy.
